SpongeBob SquarePants is an American TV show created by marine bioligist, Stephen Hillenburg.
Development[]
Stephen Hillenburg was fascinated at the ocean when he was a child. He loved to study oceans and soon became good at art. Eventually, he wanted to create a show which includes characters who are sea animals. The first idea Hillenburg thought was SpongeBoy, a happy sponge. Then, he decided to change the name to SpongeBob SquarePants instead. So he hired voice actors to voice all the main characters and recurring characters. Then, he hired some writers to help write the transcripts and what the characters would say.
Main characters and voice actors[]
All of the main characters of the show include:
Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants, a happy go lucky sea sponge who loves to have fun.
Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star, a dumb starfish who is best friends with SpongeBob.
Rodger Bumpass as Squidward Tentacles, a mean and annoyed octopus who usually gets annoyed by SpongeBob and Patrick.
Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks, a nice squirrel who comes from Texas and studies Science.
Clancy Brown as Eugene H. Krabs, the owner of the Krusty Krab and SpongeBob and Squidward's boss.
Mr. Lawrence as Sheldon J. Plankton, a mean, cruel, and evil character who is the shows villain.
